My wife and I with our Medium Poodle Maddy, called in for a couple of hours to have a look around the site. We had a lovely visit. The food, both savoury and sweet was of high quality (we tried sausage roll and carrot cake on this occasion, both delicious). There was a lot to see, loads of information about the area, ie railways, former collieries and other points of relevance. There are plenty of nice walks around the area and pooch was suitably exercised and allowed into the main building afterwards for refreshment in the cafe/gift shop. There is also a layout (train set) in what used to be the Goods Shed of how the railway appeared in 1947, as the LMS was transitioning into BR. Well worth a visit and your support, I got the impression they were looking to recruit extra volunteers to help maintain and expand the project, I'll leave that one with you. We will visit again...

Lovely historic station which has been expertly restored and is now run by the wingfield station charity. You can admire the restoration and have a drink and snack at the small cafe, watching trains run right past the window! The volunteers are friendly and have a wealth of knowledge and passion about the history of the station. Worth a visit if your are in Amber valley or the Peak District! Oh and the scotch eggs are delicious!

The derelict building turned into a historic venue. The now charity run spot is definitely one to visit. This cafe is lovely and if you like trainspotting you can watch the trains go by as you eat. There is an array of desserts from cakes, cookies, and scones. There are also savories such as sausage rolls, scotch eggs etc. You can have a coffee or a tea and different varieties are available. Will definitely return.

This is a place where you can delve deeper into the history of the 1840 British train, accompanied by excellent tour guides. They provide detailed explanations for each part, allowing us to gain a more profound understanding of this historically significant train station. The restoration process has consumed a considerable amount of time, manpower, and resources, but it is well worth it to preserve and educate more people about it. The volunteers are attentive and courteous, and the fact that it's a free tour with only a need for advance booking adds to the overall positive experience.
